The variometer
is designed to promote flight safety by encouraging head up flying,
and to be simple and reliable to operate. Great care has been taken
to produce an original audio sound that is more pleasing and informative
to listen to, than those previously available.
The impetus for
the design was the production of a standard variometer with an audio
unit, that used the very latest 'state of the art' digital circuit
pressure transducer technology. This technology obviates the need
for the capacity flask as sued in older designs, thus removing the
problems associated with false climb readings , due to higher internal
flask temperatures and the problem of under reading when heated
thermistor bridges are affected by high ambient air temperatures.
The provision of
high quality components and innovative design has resulted in a
first class standard variometer with an integral audio at a reasonable
price, that can replace or supplement the standard mechanical variometer.
When the 60mm repeater meter is added to the XK10 Club, then it
is a much more economical and safer option than fitting two mechanical
variometers to two seater tandem gliders. |
